Infection Control & Sterilization
At Parkview Dental of Westfield, NJ, your health and safety are our top priorities. We maintain strict infection control protocols and strictly adhere to guidelines set by the American Dental Association (ADA) and CDC to provide a safe, sterile environment for every procedure.
Our Daily Infection Control Standards
-
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Our clinical team wears fresh gloves, protective masks, and safety eyewear during every examination and treatment.
-
Autoclave Instrument Sterilization: All reusable instruments, including dental handpieces, undergo rigorous cleaning in ultrasonic units followed by high-pressure, high-temperature steam sterilization in an autoclave.
-
Surface Disinfection & Barrier Protection: Countertops, light handles, X-ray units, and patient chairs are disinfected with medical-grade cleaners and protected with fresh disposable plastic barriers between every patient visit.
-
Pure Water Delivery Systems: We use filtered water for standard dental handpieces and air/water syringes, and sterile distilled water for surgical procedures.
-
Single-Use Disposable Items: Materials that cannot be autoclaved are properly discarded and replaced after a single use.
Rigorous Safety Verification
To ensure absolute effectiveness, our sterilization equipment is routinely monitored and tested by an independent outside laboratory. We constantly evaluate and upgrade our protocols so you can feel completely confident and comfortable in our care.
